100 Princes Street in Edinburgh — City Boutique Hotel

Edinburgh

Edinburgh's Crown Jewel Address

Where castle light and Scottish soul conspire to create pure magic.

Occupying the grand former headquarters of the Royal Overseas League, 100 Princes Street is a testament to Edinburgh's enduring ability to reinvent its storied past with breathtaking elegance. Positioned on one of Europe's most celebrated thoroughfares, this opulent boutique hotel draws the eye immediately with interiors that weave rich Scottish aesthetics — think sumptuous tartans, burnished timbers, and artisan detailing — into a setting of genuine architectural grandeur. It is the kind of arrival that makes you slow your pace and simply breathe it all in.

The pièce de résistance, of course, is the view. Edinburgh Castle looms magnificently from the hotel's windows, a living portrait that shifts with the Scottish light from golden morning clarity to the dramatic bruised purples of dusk. For couples seeking a romantic city escape, there is something quietly extraordinary about sipping a dram of fine single malt while one of the world's great fortresses holds court just beyond the glass. The central location ensures the city's finest restaurants, galleries, and cobbled closes are all within effortless reach.

100 Princes Street occupies a rare category of hotel — one that genuinely enhances its destination rather than merely accommodating guests within it. This is Edinburgh distilled to its most magnificent essence, served with impeccable style and a warmth that feels authentically Scottish rather than performatively so. An unmissable address for the discerning traveller.

What They Say

Everything was luxury from the moment you reach the front steps. The experience we had at this hotel was like no other. The hotel itself is gorgeous as is the bar and our room. Our room had heated flooring in the bathroom and a view of Edinburgh castle. The hotel staff were super helpful and thought of everything for us. They were great about dietary requirements and recommendations. I can see why this hotel has a Michellin key. The food was also amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment we spent here thanks to the beautiful amenities and the incredible staff. Regarding location the hotel is centrally located near everything you could want to visit and we walked virtually everywhere. Would for sure stay here again. Highly recommend.

My husband and I had the most incredible stay at 100 Princes Street. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed. Every interaction was warm, thoughtful, and personalized. The hotel itself is stunning, with elegant Scottish-inspired design and a boutique, intimate feel that was perfect for a romantic trip. Our room was beautiful and impeccably kept, with luxurious bedding. We loved the cozy lounge for evening cocktails and the exceptional breakfast each day and an unforgettable view of Edinburgh Castle that made every morning feel magical —it truly felt like a special retreat in the heart of the city. The location is unbeatable, an easy walk to Old Town, the Royal Mile, and great shopping and dining. 100 Princes Street exceeded every expectation and made our getaway truly memorable. We can’t wait to return.

This hotel was absolutely stunning! The staff was amazingly attentive to my needs. I was always greeted coming in, and the door man was delightful to speak with. From the moment I checked in, I felt like I was in good hands. The turn down service at night was excellent, the little chocolates were a highlight! The staff working at The Wallace always took great care of me, I enjoyed breakfast there twice and both times loved it. I can’t recommend this place enough, I truly felt like royalty staying here.

WOW. 100 Princes Street exceeded our high expectations. The hotel is stunning down to every detail. The whole hotel is beautifully curated to fit their theme. The architectural design is incredible. The Wallace/ bar room has breathtaking views of the castle. The drinks, food, and rooms are top notch. We enjoyed dinner at The Wallace, did the Whiskey tasting with Dario, and enjoyed drinks with castle views. It was a great place to unwind each night after city exploring. Location of the hotel was very central to everything. What made this hotel an incredible experience was how we were blown away by the hospitality from the staff. They are the best. My daughter got her own kid's size robe and slippers in the room, the staff greeted our kids by name, and everything even down to the selected soaps for the room were perfectly picked. The rooms are beautifully designed and well cleaned. The view of the castle from our room was amazing. We loved coming home each evening with the turn down service with small sweet treats. Ellie, Dario, the kind doorman, and the whole staff were so thoughtful. We had the most welcoming visit, thank you 100 Princes Street.
