Beadnell, Northumberland
Where the Wild Coast Meets the Table
History, hunger, and the sound of the Northumberland sea.
Tucked into the heart of the charming coastal village of Beadnell, this historic boutique hotel is one of Northumberland's most quietly compelling escapes. Beadnell Towers & Kitchen sits surrounded by award-winning beaches, where the wild North Sea light plays across vast stretches of unspoiled sand — the kind of landscape that makes you remember why Britain's coastline rivals anywhere in the world. The property's storied bones have been given a thoroughly contemporary soul, with 22 individually designed bedrooms, each one distinct in character, from the romantically named Craa's Nest — complete with its own telescope for stargazing — to the warmly appointed Muckle Hoose and the atmospheric Doose, dressed in rich tones and low lamplight.
The Kitchen is reason enough to make the journey north. This is exceptional food in the truest sense — not the polished anonymity of a hotel restaurant, but cooking with genuine ambition and a clear sense of place, drawing on the extraordinary larder that Northumberland's coast and countryside provide. Whether you're lingering over a long dinner after a windswept afternoon on the beach or booking a table as a destination in its own right, the food here is central to the Beadnell Towers experience rather than an afterthought.
For couples seeking romance without pretension, for food lovers chasing something worth the drive, and for anyone who has ever felt the particular pull of the English coast in all its moody, magnificent glory — Beadnell Towers delivers with quiet confidence. Book a room, walk the beach at dusk, and let the kitchen do the rest.

What They Say
“Visited on a very wet and windy Wednesday night in January to try the Bar & Kitchen. We were greeted by friendly, relaxed staff. Menu was lovely and it took us a while to choose only 2 starters and mains as the selection was lovely. Food arrived piping hot and cooked to perfection; we had the 10oz Himalayan Rib Eye and Braised Ox Cheek for mains and Local Crab on Sourdough and Blue Cheese Soufflé for starters. All were delicious! Desserts were wonderful too; a vanilla rice pudding and rum soaked pineapple with coconut ice cream…..amazing! All in all a lovely visit, made better by the friendly, efficient service and warm welcome! Will definitely return next time we’re up here.”
“Stayed for a friends birthday. Bar and restaurant were fantastic - excellent cocktail happy hour, and food was delicious, both evening meal and breakfast. Pork cheek and venison absolutely delicious and service was excellent, particularly for a large group. The room was well maintained and nicely decorated, however the shower was lukewarm at best, and others in our party reported the same issue in their rooms. There is a small sign saying this is due to a legal temperature limit being applied however I have never heard of this in any other hotel and is disappointing given the Northumbrian coast is beautiful, but chilly and the rooms aren’t cheap. If they could sort this out it would be a 5* trip as it’s a beautiful place in a stunning location.”
“Amazing hotel in a beautiful location! Gorgeous room with everything you could require, beautiful food in the restaurant both evening meal and breakfast. Staff are both knowledgeable and friendly. Would not hesitate to recommend this wonderful hotel in gorgeous Beadnell.”
