Where Time Stands Beautifully Still
A 13th-century Cotswold manor where attentive grace and unhurried elegance reign supreme.
Tucked beneath the rolling Cotswold hills and cradled by ten acres of enchanting gardens, Buckland Manor is one of those rare properties that makes you forget the modern world ever existed. This 13th-century manor — once a cherished family home for centuries — retains an extraordinary warmth and character, its honey-stone walls and candlelit drawing rooms whispering quietly of lives well lived. From the moment you arrive, there is a palpable sense of stepping not simply into a hotel, but into a world entirely your own.
The staff here are the stuff of legend, earning Buckland Manor a glowing 4.7 out of 5 across more than a thousand reviews — a figure that speaks not to corporate efficiency, but to genuine, unhurried attentiveness. Couples in particular will find this a place of uncommon romance: quiet corners to lose yourselves in, sweeping garden views to linger over, and candlelit dinners built around seasonal menus that honour the very landscape outside your window. Heritage, stillness and gastronomy embrace here in the most effortless way.
Buckland Manor does not ask you to do very much at all — and that, frankly, is its greatest luxury. Whether you are celebrating a milestone or simply craving an escape from the relentless pace of everyday life, Broadway's finest manor house delivers something increasingly hard to find: the sensation that time, for once, is entirely on your side.

What They Say
“Visited for lunch, The approach is beautiful. Entering inside is cosy and what you would expect from this period property, until you reach the Reception, which was in a tiny room and reminded me of a 2 star reception in Skegness. The quality of the food is excellent as you would expect, but the lunch lacked any inspiration, I ordered the Salmon, and that's all that arrived , just a small plate of salmon with a few capers and that was it. Also my wife ordered the cecoutery which came with some folded parma ham and some salamy, again nothing else, no garnish or salad, .We ordered 2 lots of chips and some bread, .This and 4 drinks came to £116 Having visited many local 5 star hotel and restaurants in the Cotswold , It just fell short of our expectations,”
“Really cosy place for a winter break. It is like staying in a private country house rather than a hotel. Stayed in a small deluxe room which was very nice and had a fantastic generously sized bathroom. Very good food. The staff are friendly and professional. Would love to visit again sometime.”
“Come here for afternoon tea if you’re looking for a place of quiet luxury — calm, peaceful, and with a fantastic ambiance that feels like stepping into a experience from another time. We visited Buckley Manor for afternoon tea and made a same-day reservation through OpenTable without any issues. We opted for the cream tea, which was lovely. The tea selection process was a nice touch — they brought out a sample box so we could smell the blends before choosing. The scones were excellent: two smaller ones per order, served warm, perfectly balanced between flaky and soft. Service was adequate but not memorable. Our young waitress helped adjust the sun umbrella, which we appreciated, but she wasn’t particularly attentive or warm. That said, she wasn’t rude either — just somewhat indifferent. Payment is handled at the reception desk, which was a bit unexpected for afternoon tea. The Grounds were beautiful. We sat outside under the umbrella on a perfectly kept lawn, and it was truly the highlight of the experience. On a nice day, outdoor seating is highly recommended. The indoor area looked cozy and elegant, but the best tables are definitely outside. Overall: A lovely spot for cream tea with excellent scones and a gorgeous garden setting. Service could be more polished, but the ambiance makes it worth a visit. Confidence on my rating: - low. Have only been once and only had the cream tea.”
“We had a fabulous afternoon tea with family at this beautiful hotel. The staff were really friendly and made us feel welcome as soon as we walked through the door. Thank you to everyone at Buckland Manor for such a happy day.”
“We never ended up eating at this restaurant. After we made a reservation for Dec 7, we realized that what we expected was not actually being offered. When we canceled the reservation, the restaurant handled it poorly and showed no flexibility, repeatedly pointing to policy instead of trying to resolve the situation reasonably. The issue had to be taken to our credit card company, which reviewed everything and refunded the charge. Based on how this was handled — before we ever even stepped inside — I would not recommend this restaurant. Anyone booking should double-check all details in advance and be prepared for very strict policies.”
