“My daughter and I enjoyed a very special Morning Meander spa experience. We were made to feel very welcome from the minute we came through the door and we enjoyed all of the spa facilities. Lunch was superb with coeliac needs fully catered for. The snow room was an absolute highlight and we would love to return.”
“Visually beautiful hotel. Sadly the spa is far too busy and given the age of the hotel, rooms are really not soundproof in the slightest, you can hear next door rooms and doors opening along the corridor etc. The booking was for a birthday which was told beforehand to the hotel, at check in it was mentioned a ‘sweet treat’ would be waiting in the room as a gesture. Unfortunately there was nothing, was not recognised by the person showing us the room, nor was it rectified at any point during our stay. There are no fridges in the rooms but communal Smeg fridge in the corridor with unlimited water/milk available. The rainfall shower was outstanding. Ended up ordering room service for dinner (but had to run down to find someone each time we did as the phones were never answered) due to there being no tables available at the time we were wanting to dine, but the food was delicious. Drinks arrived in good time, food felt slow. When watching tv, someone trying to connect to airplay would continuously interrupt us watching tv as it would try and connect our tv and turn off what we were watching. Which was obviously rather annoying. No turndown service offered on check in or any camomile tea in the room. Only last three teas available when asking reception. No offer to get any more. The bed in the room we were in (Room 11), was not made for anyone around 6’0”, unless you’re happy with feet dangling off the bed. Not mentioned on booking. But super comfortable bed and bedding. Breakfast the next morning was incredibly slow service for hot food, verging on painful and the cold buffet selection was pretty average. Shame the spa was so busy, it would be good if you were able to book onto an allotted time, so it doesn’t get hogged. Thoughtful gift bag when checking out/leaving. Glad to have stayed, but not sure I would again. Nothing particularly outstanding that blew me away.”
“We absolutely loved our stay at Dormy House. From the moment you walk in you feel at home and relaxed. The rooms and decor are beautiful with a modern country vibe and have everything you need. The food at both the shed and back garden was delicious! Especially the cream tea. The spa and pool has a really nice relaxed feel. We had a couple of spa treatments and all of the therapists were very professional. We definitely would like to come back again, it felt like a proper escape!”
“We stayed at Dormy House for five nights in Studio 42, and it was a wonderful experience overall. The Room: Studio 42 was spacious, beautifully designed, and full of thoughtful touches — from the full drum kit and vinyl player to the sound system in every room. It even had two toilets, which was surprisingly convenient. The bathroom featured a modern setup with both rain and handheld shower heads, excellent water pressure, and precise temperature control. Everything about the room felt carefully considered and of high quality. Complimentary snacks and drinks were provided, the room was spotless, and the cleaning staff were consistently warm and friendly. The Service: Service throughout our stay was fantastic. While the team seemed small — often just one or two receptionists — they were exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help. They assisted with dinner reservations and even offered complimentary rides within the property. The Food: Breakfast was classic English fare, served in a lovely setting with attentive and cheerful staff. The Spa: Though on the smaller side, the spa is very well equipped — featuring a steam room, sauna, warm and tropical showers, and even a snow machine! It’s compact but thoughtfully designed and never felt overcrowded. The Grounds: Beautifully maintained, with complimentary electric vehicle parking available. Minor Notes: There’s no elevator, and we arrived with heavy suitcases that had to be carried up the stairs. There weren’t any male staff around at the time, so I felt a bit bad watching the female staff struggle to help us with the luggage — but they were gracious and insisted nonetheless.”
“My husband and I stayed here for our first anniversary and it was absolutely perfect. From the warm welcome to the thoughtful surprise of champagne in our room, everything felt so special. The whole spa experience was fantastic, especially the unique Snow Rain and Forest Shower, topping it of with the Dormy Head Spa Treatment and afterwards a Smoked Salmon and Cream Tea at The Greenhouse. We really Dinner at The Back Garden was another highlight – the atmosphere was lovely, the staff attentive, and the food super tasty (the pork terrine was delicious). The location was easy to find, though we wished there had been easier access to walk around the estate. Overall, every detail made us feel cared for, and we left feeling completely relaxed. We’d love to come back again!”
