History, Warmth, and Good Taste
Where Oxfordshire's past meets a thoroughly modern weekend escape.
Tucked into the honey-stoned heart of Woodstock, The Feathers is the kind of place that makes a weekend feel genuinely restorative. This 17th-century inn wears its history lightly, pairing original character — exposed beams, atmospheric nooks, the quiet sense that these walls have seen a great deal — with 23 individually designed rooms that lean into contemporary comfort without sacrificing an ounce of charm. With Blenheim Palace's gilded gates just a short stroll away, the location alone is worth the journey.

What They Say
“This hotel is phenomenal. Traveling with both a baby and a dog can often be a bit frantic, but the staff here were absolutely fantastic. Friendly, attentive - they truly went above and beyond to make us feel relaxed and stress-free from the moment we arrived. The level of hospitality is matched by the quality of the hotel itself—the rooms were stunning and the food was top-tier. Everything about it was exceptional. It's also the perfect spot to visit Blenheim Palace which was stunning at this time of year. I couldn't recommend it more - the perfect stay.”
“We stayed at The Feathers for Valentines this year. From first arriving to saying goodbye, the service was incredible - the lady who helped us on arrival was wonderful and went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant time. The rooms are beautiful, the decor is stunning and the food is sensational. We very much look forward to our next visit. Love the Olivers x”
“Outstanding hotel in the heart of Woodstock! We have stayed here quite a few times over the past 4 years or so and have witnessed this hotel’s complete transformation from a lovely but slightly quirky hotel into an absolute gem! The rooms are absolutely gorgeous, comfortable, stylish and very well equipped. The new bar and lounge area are also fabulous! Service is super friendly and everyone seems to love working here. Special praise however has to go to the Hotel restaurant ‘the Nest’ with head chef Luke. We have seen this restaurant also go from strength to strength and is now one of the best we have been to - ever! The food really is outstanding and the service impeccable - we will continue to return to this place at every opportunity!”
“We spent our mini-moon at The Feathers. Our room was very clean, fresh, modern, and cosy. The super king bed was excellent. The communal and bar areas with their comfortable seating and various woodburning stoves were just what we needed to relax. Of particular note was the service - namely Mitchell and Lilliana at the restaurant, and Mandy and Emily on the desk. These people all require recognition, and pay rises! Aside from entertaining our chattiness, they went out of their way to give us tips on where to go and what to see, and arranged a celebratory bottle of fizz for our room. The breakfasts were good, with lots of variety and lunch at the Aviary was fantastic - I had the chicken burger, cauliflower satay, and charred corn. Delicious. No doubt, we will be back.”
“Hospitality at its finest! Thank you Yulia, Liliana and Olga and the team at this lovely hotel. Your care and attention to detail in the delivery of the warm hospitality shown to us during our stay was faultless. Craig and Trish Robertson”
